Welcome to my website

I live on Vaseux Lake in the Okanagan Valley and I like painting landscapes. I work in oil, acrylic, watercolor, and encaustic.

I hope my paintings reflect atmosphere and light of the most beautiful and sacred places I have visited.  Having lived in Golden and having hiked in Yoho National Park including Lake O'hara,  I became aware of how light permeates and changes everything, sometimes in an instant which always surprises me.  Standing in a forest or on a mountain rim overlooking a valley one becomes aware of stillness and light. Now living here in the Okanagan, I am still attracted to the out of the way, quiet places.  Rather than saying anything more about what or how I paint,  I try to remember this quote:

“Believe only what an artist does, rather than what he says about his work”
David Hockney
