WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE
I live at Vaseux Lake in the Okanagan Valley which is just south of Penticton. I paint mostly impressionistic landscapes, but lately have enjoyed going back to where I started with both animals and florals. I work in oil, acrylic, watercolor, and encaustic and use the medium which I feel best reflects what I see and feel.
I hope my paintings reflect the beauty, atmosphere and light of where I am painting and create a feeling for a viewer. Having lived in Golden and having hiked in Yoho National Park including Lake O'hara, I became aware of how light permeates and changes everything, sometimes instantly. When painting plein aire, light is changing constantly and it is surprising how quickly everything you are looking at becomes different. Now living here in the Okanagan I am still attracted to the out of the way, quiet and peaceful places. I hope you enjoy visiting my website and it is not what I say about what, where or how I work, but how you the viewer perceive it. This quote says it better that I can:
